Smoky Mountain Camping
CAMPING IN THE NATIONAL PARK
AND SURROUNDING CITIES
Discover great campsites amidst some of the most beautiful scenery in America. Most campgrounds are located on a mountain river. Imagine the sounds of nature as you spending your evenings listening to the crickets, hoot owls, and the sounds of a rushing river. A number of Great Smoky Mountains National Park campgrounds are open year 'round. Some require reservations and others are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Campgrounds located in cities surrounding the national park offer hookups and RV parking. If you camp inside a nearby city, you will be near attractions, restaurants, and shopping. Camping inside the national park offers solitude.
If you've never camped, imagine how great it would be to prepare bacon, sausage, eggs, and coffee over a grill -- smelling the aroma and savoring every bite. Burgers on the grill with a can of baked beans and corn on the cob make the best meal for lunch or dinner.
