Description:

The Tennessee Museum of Aviation opened in mid-December 2001. The 50,000 sq. ft. facility is located right beside the 5,500 ft. runway at the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge Airport (GKT). This unique location makes bringing aviation history to life possible as airworthy vintage aircraft are sometimes seen performing flight demonstrations. Docents are available to assist visitors as they leisurely walk through our 35,000 sq. ft. hangar. Visitors have the opportunity to observe magnificently restored Warbirds; walk down engine row; and take a glimpse at future projects waiting for restoration. The museum is essentially a living museum; therefore, exhibits and aircraft frequently change.
